Bio:Dr. Nan Yang received the B.S. degree in Electronics from China Agricultural University, China, in 2005, the M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from a joint programme between the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia and BIT in March 2011. Since July 2014, he has been with the Research School of Engineering at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia, where he is currently a Future Engineering Research Leadership Fellow and Lecturer. He is also the leader of the multi-scale communications research team. Prior to this, he was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization from October 2010 to September 2012 and a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at UNSW from October 2012 to June 2014. In 2016 he received the Exemplary Reviewer Certificate of the IEEE Transactions on Communications, in 2015 he received the Top Reviewer Award from the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, in 2014 he received the IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award and the Exemplary Reviewer Certificate of the IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, in 2013 he received the Best Paper Award at the IEEE 77th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC-Spring), and in 2012 and 2013 he received the Exemplary Reviewer Certificate of the IEEE Communications Letters. His general research interests include communications theory and signal processing, with specific interests in massive multiple-antenna systems, heterogeneous wireless networks, millimetre wave communications, collaborative and distributed signal processing, cyber-physical security, and molecular communications. Dr. Nan Yang is currently serving in the Editorial Board of the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (SWAT Team) and the Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies, the Guest Editor of three special issues, and the Reviewer of several international prestigious journals, e.g., IEEE Communications Magazines, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Communications Letters, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, and several international flagship conferences. He has also served as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) co-chair for several IEEE conferences such as IEEE GlobeCOM Workshop, IEEE SigTelCom Workshop, and the Australian Communications Theory Workshop.
