Bio:
Dinusha Vatsalan is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Research School of Computer Science at the Australian National University (ANU).
Dinusha is currently working on privacy-preserving record linkage (PPRL) of multiple databases as part of an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project grant. PPRL is the problem of identifying matching records from different databases that correspond to the same real-world entities without compromising privacy of the entities represented by the records. PPRL of multiple databases involves three key challenges: scalability, linkage quality, and privacy. The aim of this research is to develop efficient and scalable algorithms for linking databases from multiple parties (organizations) that achieve high linkage quality in the presence of data errors and provide sufficient privacy guarantees such that no sensitive information about the entities that can be used to infer their private data is revealed among the parties or to any external party.
