Get smart with grid smart
Our shift towards more diverse energy sources, such as wind and solar, creates new challenges for the supply of power to our workplaces and homes - especially when you consider that supply of electricity is likely to become much more volatile. Researchers like Professor David Hill in the Systems and Control research group believe the smart grid - where multiple control points across a power network communicate with one another - will be the solution.
