The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science seek to appoint a new head to the Engineering School commencing 1/2/2010 or soon thereafter.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the school into a new era of engineering excellence, establishing the school as the recognized international leader in education and research. This is a new school formed at the beginning of 2009 by combining the former departments of engineering and information engineering. The school conducts research in solar energy systems, sensor and signal processing, Robotics, vision, materials, manufacturing and control.
It is expected that the new head will be an active researcher in these or related fields. The educational programs of the school are renowned throughout Australia for their innovative, research led, problem solving approach. The school additionally includes part of the ANU Institute of Advanced Studies which makes substantial research funds available to ensure that the school continues to excel.
The new head will offer the vision, leadership and drive necessary to take the school to a level of pre-eminence, re-vitalizing both teaching and research building on current success to create a world class entity.
