Awards mean bright futures for bright students
Parents, students, academics and general staff gathered for the presentation of prizes and scholarships to outstanding College undergraduate students on Friday 13 July.
Professor John Richards, Director and Dean of the College, welcomed everyone commenting that it was rewarding to see so many friends and colleagues of students in attendance since it was also Graduation Day.
He thanked all scholarship and prize donors for their support of engineering and computer science students who were the potential employees of some; who carried the flag for academic excellence for others; and for those altruistic donors that created prizes and scholarships to fondly remember friends and family.
Master of Ceremonies was Professor Mick Cardew-Hall, Deputy Dean of the College, who announced the names of recipients and highlighted that awards were made based upon a student's academic achievement and were not given lightly. Indeed, some students managed to receive more than one prize.
